Sam Goldman - Moderator Arbor Investment Management LLC - Founder and Principal

Sam Goldman is a founder and principal of Arbor Investment Management LLC, a Chicago-based family office that invests in an array of multifamily apartment and other commercial properties in Chicago and other growing urban markets around the United States.

Sam brings an inquisitive, analytical approach and a passion for learning to every interaction and transaction. He takes an active role in all phases of the real estate investment process from sourcing and initial evaluation to acquisition, finance, development, operations, disposition and ultimate re-investment. Through a variety of debt and equity platforms, Sam’s involvement in commercial real estate extends from developmental projects to ‘Class-A’ stabilized assets with project sizes ranging from neighborhood walk-up to institutional-grade communities.

In addition to overseeing the real estate portfolios, Sam is actively engaged in and passionate about the myriad of issues affecting today’s thriving family offices. Chief among them are investment diligence; current tax and legal issues; intermediate to long term tax, estate and investment planning; governance and succession; intergenerational planning; treasury management and finance; and balancing risk profiles between generations with varying risk tolerances and investment goals. Sam also closely follows local and national housing and development policy.

Sam is a member of the Lincoln Park Builders of Chicago (“LPBC”), the Edgewater Uptown Builders Association and represents LPBC as a board member of the Neighborhood Building Owners Alliance. Sam lives in Wicker Park.
