Steven Fifield - Panelist Fifield Companies
Steve Fifield, Chairman and CEO of Fifield Companies, is known as a residential and office building trend-setter. Fifield has developed 21 mid-and high-rise towers in Chicago’s West Loop alone, as well as high-rise buildings on Michigan Avenue and LaSalle Street, and in River North, West Town, Evanston, and the Gold Coast.
In the past decade, Fifield has led Fifield Companies to become one of Chicago’s largest developers of urban-infill residential buildings with marquee projects such as the $800 million K Station development, with its 2,145 units across five apartment towers in the Fulton River district. In total, Fifield Companies has built or renovated more than 7,000 high-rise residential units in Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas, southeast Florida and Las Vegas.
Newer projects are the 350-unit E2 in Evanston, Illinois, which opened in spring 2015; NEXT, a 28-story, 310-unit tower at 347 W. Chestnut which opened in September 2016; and The Sinclair, a 35-story, 390-unit uber-luxury tower that opened recently in the Gold Coast.
In Los Angeles, Fifield is cofounder of Century West Partners, with eight projects of more than 2,000 luxury apartment units in Los Angeles, Koreatown and Santa Monica, Ca., including NEXT on 6th and K2LA apartments in Koreatown comprising 886 units; NEXT on Lex with 494 units in Glendale, Ca.; and 5 apartment buildings comprising 430 units in downtown Santa Monica.
Fifield is a member of numerous real estate organizations and the Young President’s Organization, and an active contributor to civic and charity groups. He and his wife, Randy, were named Multi-Housing News’ 2015 Excellence Awards “Executives of the Year.” Fifield is an Indiana University-trained mathematician with an MBA from the University of Chicago.
