Keating Crown serves as a Managing Principal at Sterling Bay, a dynamic and innovative Chicago-based real estate investment and development company with a breadth of expertise spanning all aspects of real estate ownership. Sterling Bay is an established leader in creating urban campus headquarters for prominent companies such as Google, McDonald’s, Uber, Glassdoor, Dyson, Hillshire Brands and Gogo. The firm has been consistently recognized for its award-winning projects and successful track record of transforming spaces and enhancing communities. Today, Sterling Bay maintains a portfolio of 40 properties in excess of $3 billion and a rapidly growing, passionate team of more than 200 employees.
Keating joined Sterling Bay in 2012. He is currently focused on new acquisitions and development, as well as strategic capital pursuits and relationships. He is also heavily involved in retail merchandising of the Sterling Bay portfolio. Keating’s career in commercial real estate began in 2002, spending eight years at Tishman Speyer in New York City and San Francisco prior to joining Sterling Bay. As Director of Development, he was involved in over six million square feet of ground-up residential and office redevelopment projects.
Keating earned a BA from Duke University and a JD-MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and Pritzker School of Law. He currently serves on the boards of the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum, the 606/Bloomingdale Trail, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the Northwestern Memorial Foundation, the Trinity College Board of Visitors for Duke University and the Chicago Architecture Biennial. In 2014, he was recognized on Crain’s Chicago Business’ 40 Under 40 list.
