Matt Katsaros - Panelist Wildwood Investments LLC

Matt Katsaros has been involved in investment real estate, specifically the multifamily sector, for two decades. Matt founded Wildwood Investments LLC in 2020, at the start of the pandemic. The firm has two primary strategies, ground-up middle-market multifamily development in Chicago and strategic joint venture partnerships with institutional developers for large-scale projects throughout the Midwest.

Matt spent the first half of his career representing sellers of Chicago multifamily property. During the Great Recession, he represented several private equity funds, middle-market banks and venture funds in transitioning workout assets to cash-flowing properties. This experience led to a strategic career transition from the “sell side” to the “buy side” when he joined Pangea Properties (REIT) to co-lead acquisitions nationwide.

At Pangea, Matt’s team closed both fee simple and note purchases of distressed assets throughout the Midwest, growing the firm’s multifamily portfolio to over 12,000 apartments.

At market stabilization, CA Ventures offered Matt a launchpad into large-scale national development and institutional investment management. There, he was responsible for pipeline strategy and execution for the firm’s U.S. residential practice. During his four-year tenure with CA, from 2016 to 2020, he helped to build a robust development pipeline totaling more than $3 billion.

Matt holds a finance degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
