Jim Jann - Moderator JAB Real Estate Inc.

Jim Jann is a seasoned developer who is well known to Chicago’s real estate community and the Lincoln Park Builders of Chicago faithful in particular. He has spent the past quarter century building, renovating and operating residential properties throughout Chicago, focusing in particular on apartment buildings, condos and single family homes on the city’s North Side.

Jim began his professional life in the law, earning his JD from Northwestern University School of Law and spending much of the 1990s working as a prosecutor in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office. He left in 1998 to pursue his real estate career full-time and in 1999 co-founded JAB Real Estate, Inc. In the decades since, Jim has been a very active buyer, builder and operator of rental apartments in Chicago, managing the development and construction of over 2,500 units and closing over $400 million of transactions. Today, Jim and JAB partner Frank Campise are working on the eighth in a series of real estate investment funds focused on value-added opportunities in Chicago and select markets nationally.

Throughout his career, Jim has been very active in real estate trade associations, including stints as President of the Lincoln Park Builders of Chicago and Director of REIA Chicago. Lincoln Park Builders is extremely proud to welcome him back as moderator of this year’s Real Estate Forum.
